When I saw an opportunity to get onto solar ground farm I knew right away that was how I was going to be able to create generational wealth with my family and farm together again.
My father's always had the desire that this farm stay from generation to generation...[Solar] would give an opportunity...for this next generation to stay on this farm.
We're harvesting the sun's rays to produce something that human's want and need. Back in the day, farmers raised oats and hay. That fueled the transportation of the time.
I know a lot of small farms out there are looking for those income streams and I can see solar grazing being one of the ways that could save the farm.
Renewable energy... it's not about new technology. It's about making life better for people.
The takeaway is that solar provided a change and we accepted and the doors that it's opened in different farming aspects...all kinds of opportunties are going to open because of solar.
This gives you sustainability because of the revenue stream that's guaranteed for the next 30 years.
We've collected roughly $42 million since 2009 and over $25 million that's gone to the schools and if we didn't have this AV from the wind I don't know where we'd be.
